Hon. Justice Mike J. Chibita
BOARD CHAIRPERSON
Hon. Justice Mike J. Chibita holds a Master’s Degree of Law in International and Comparative Law, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law. He is a Judge at the Supreme Court of Uganda and is a former Director of Public Prosecution in Uganda. Before this, Hon. Justice Mike J. Chibita worked as a President’s Principal Private Secretary (State House Uganda), Assistant Commissioner with Uganda’s tax body Uganda Revenue Authority, Legal Assistant to the Attorney General of Uganda, and State Attorney, in the Attorney General’s Chambers. Hon. Justice Mike J. Chibita is an assiduous advocate and defender of rights of children, young persons, girls, women and other vulnerable persons. Hon. Justice Mike J. Chibita guides Teens Up on governance, social justice and legal matters.

Dr. Josephine Nabugoomu
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & BOARD SECRETARY
Dr. Josephine Nabugoomu is a Co-founder of Teens Up Initiative and holds a PhD in Public Health and Health Systems, Master’s Degree in Applied Human Nutrition, and Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Dr. Nabugoomu’s research and teaching interests are global health, child and adolescent health, sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, social and behavioral health, and health education and promotion. Her personal qualities include project management, community engagement, learner-centered teaching approaches, interpersonal and organizational skills, negotiation and conflict resolution, collaboration and teamwork, and oral and written communication. From 2012 to date, she has trained close to 10,000 teenagers in entrepreneurship skills, personal hygiene, sexual and reproductive health, and personal and interpersonal management. Dr. Nabugoomu provides overall leadership of Teens Up Initiative and is responsible for research and training in entrepreneurship skills and health. She also manages relationships with Teens Up Initiative partners.

Professor Fabian Nabugoomu
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & BOARD MEMBER
Professor Fabian Nabugoomu is a Co-founder of Teens Up Initiative and holds a PhD, Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics. Professor Nabugoomu is a Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration) at Kyambogo University and a Director of East Africa Statistics Institute. He has also been an academic and researcher at Makerere University and Uganda Christian University. Professor Nabugoomu is very enthusiastic about inspiring and influencing teenagers and young persons to acquire skills in entrepreneurship, having entrepreneurial minds and financial literacy, skills he has passed on through mentorship programs of different schools and communities at national and international levels. Professor Nabugoomu coordinates skills training in entrepreneurial and financial intelligence, and is responsible for research, financial management and the organizational strategy of Teens Up Initiative.

Ms. Sarah Alum Ameri
BOARD MEMBER
Ms. Sarah Alum Ameri is a Management Consultant who holds a Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She is the East African Regional Finance and Grants Coordinator at Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF). Ms. Sarah is an innovative problem solver and manager with strong financial skills, projects management and solid operational expertise. She has an over 8 years’ experience working for USAID Contractors such as Chemonics International, USAID Feed the Future and YLA as a Grants and Strategic Activities Fund Manager and ACDI/VOCA USAID DFAP and MYAP program as a Grants Officer. She is also is a Mentor for the Tony Elumelu Foundation, a philanthropy organization empowering young Africans for economic growth and job creation. Ms. Sarah Alum Ameri is Teens Up ’s focal person for projects management and monitoring and evaluation.
Eng. Phiona Kukunda
BOARD MEMBER
Eng. Phiona Kukunda holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Besides being a vibrant Civil Engineer, she is so zealous about mentoring the girl and boy child to take on and excel in entrepreneurial skills, social skills, academic science subjects, focus on their future careers and keep in school to completion. Eng. Phiona Kukunda is the Founder and Executive Director of Bernix Engineering Consults Limited and also an Engineer with National Medical Stores. Besides her engineering work, Eng. Phiona Kukunda makes decorative rugs, door mats and cushions for sale, hand art skills she acquired during her high school education. Eng. Phiona Kukunda is Teens Up ’s focal person for human resource management and strategies to mentor girls and boys for better academic and skills outcomes.
